Ripening Method for Tropical Fruits

While there are multiple methods, here is my favorite ripening method.

 

Paper bag method:

1) Place the sapote fruits in a brown paper bag to trap ethylene gas and speed up ripening. Optionally, add a ripe bana peel. Ripe banana peel releases natural ethylene which helps ripening process.

2) Keep the bag in a warm place like a oven.

“DO NOT switch on the oven”

3) Check for ripening on regular basis.

When they get soft, it’s the indication that they are ripened.

4) Do not let them get too soft as they will spoil with excess ripening.
